Summer Camp Fun! Join us for another week in July!

Kids were able to enjoy the woods and fields during summer camp last week! Forest Preserve Naturalists lead activities based on a different nature theme each day. They taught children about native animals and plants in their habitats, the web of life and lots more!

We’re offering another week of Summer Camp in July! Sign up your child, entering grades 1st – 6th for a “Week in the Woods,” Monday, July 9 – Friday, July 13, from 9 a.m. – noon at Creek Bend Nature Center. The fee is $150/child.

Native Garden Care

Learn how to select and maintain great, summer-blooming native plants for your garden during a “Learn from the Experts” nature program on Tuesday, July 17, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Pottawatomie Community Center.

Landscape Architect Trish Beckjord will share examples of what to do, and what not to do. View the plantings at the native plant demonstration garden at the Pottawatomie Community Center. Beckjord will provide tips for summer garden care. Attendees will find out how yard and gardens can be part of the Conservation at Home program.
